Dressing up can be tiresome and women say that they even have the harder time because while men have a few staples, women’s clothing have a lot of staples and there are so many things to be considered. You see guys don’t have to worry about exposing skin. It can be deemed gross but if they carry it well that it will not matter as much as when it’s the women’s turn to bare some skin.

One such article of clothing that evolved because of this sort of problem is the nylon stockings. The nylon stockings came to be at around early 1900’s and soared to popularity in Europe. In the years before 1960, the nylon stocking trend captured the world but it waned by the year 1970.

At its height, almost every movie star was photographed wearing nylon stockings. These days nylon stockings are paired with images of night clubs our strippers. During its heydays, those connotations are not totally obscure but since everyone was sporting it, there was an excuse to wear it and say that hey, it is what is in these days.

Nylon stockings seem to have combined sexy and being conservative. The women who are game to show some skin saw it as the perfect tool to tease men while those who are not at all comfortable with showing off their legs see it as a perfect article to protect their legs from being prey to the eyes of men.

This article of clothing seems to signal what is to come. That during those times, women struggled to be who they are without prejudice and nylon stockings gave them that chance to dress however they want. When the trend disappeared, it was primarily because women thought nylon stockings have got to go because they are comfortable with their own ski.

Today there are still some popular brand names that carry nylon stockings like Bare Essentials and Stockings HQ. These brands can easily be accessed through the internet. Both Bare Essentials and Stockings HQ are based in Europe which is very understandable since that is where nylon stockings originated.
